Factors

Screw Conveyor

Type Factor

It is a factor depending on the type of screw in the conveyor. The type is selected according to transport process and the material. Examples of basic types with the factor value :
I II III IV
Full Ribbon Paddle Cut
1.0 0.7 0.75 0.5

Fill Factor

It is the filling level of the conveyor and depends primarily on the type of transported material. Each material has its own factor, which is experimentally determined.

Examples of values:
I II III IV
0.50 0.35 0.20 0.10

Values for individual materials are listed in the Materials section.

Angle Factor

It is used for conveyors inclined to the horizontal - as the inclination increases, the conveyor's capacity decreases. On the chart you can see that the 30 degree conveyor has only 30% capacity compared to the horizontal.

Some of the values:

Angle: 0 5 10 15 20 25 30 35 40 45
Factor: 1.00 0.99 0.90 0.72 0.55 0.41 0.30 0.21 0.15 0.12

Resistance Factor

It is conventional factor caused by moving material which mainly depends on the properties of this material and also local transport conditions. Each type of material has its own factor - usually in the range from 2 to 4.
